Loading ...For rapper Goose – who was born in South Side Syracuse, New York – music has always been his way to express himself. Goose has been faced with many obstacles on the path to a better life. Being one of five children in a single-parent household, dealing with issues at a young age led to him writing his feelings down on paper.
Goose’s life took a dramatic turn in 1998 when his mother decided to move to Orlando, Florida. Around this time, he began taking rap seriously and teamed up with childhood friends Marcus and Chad (Reason) to form a local rap crew known as the Monarchz. Their first big gig was at Soul Café in Brooklyn, New York.
The crew then began their own promotions company, Franchise Entertainment, in Orlando, Florida, making them some of the youngest promoters in town. During this time, Goose met Rockwell, owner of Renaissance Records, and recorded the Untouchables Mixtape which later caught the attention of producer, Trae Coner and Beau Franks. In August of 2006, Goose got his first industry placement when he was featured on the EA Sports Madden 2007 soundtrack.
After taking a two-year hiatus in May of 2009, he decided to put his life on record by releasing his first solo mixtape with the help of Trae Coner in an effort to share the many different sides of Goose. “Homeless In Hollywood is being in a familiar place and unfamiliar place at the same time.” He decided to put his destiny into his own hands by using self-promotion techniques, using a closely-knit crew to get him major label exposure as a songwriter and artist. As Goose stated, “This is the transition from striving to making it.”
