With over a decade of experience professionally and a lifetime of dedication, Cousin Bubb is poised to make his mark in the music world.
Born in the nation’s capitol, Washington, D.C., Cousin was influenced by the some of the early greats of hip-hop as well as the local sounds of go-go. LL Cool J, Run DMC, Doug E. Fresh and Chuck Brown are a few influences that created Cousin Bubb’s early love for music. His eagerness to perform gained him a reputation throughout the city for having one of the liveliest stage shows around.
Performing at clubs like Republic Gardens, Island Café, Envy, Bar Nun and U Turn on a weekly basis earned Cousin and his label mates from Get Me Records the right to open up for premier national artists at their shows in Washington D.C.. Cousin Bubb has opened shows for recording artists Jim Jones, Project Pat, Freeway, Crime Mob, Young Buck, Lloyd Banks, Devin the Dude and Scarface, twice. He has also performed with local bands Backyard Band and MTV Awards show house band, UCB on numerous occasions.
Being nominated for the 2007 DMV Legend award showed that his hard work and dedication to being the best is being noticed by his peers and fans alike. With the release of his fourth CD to date, Bubb has proven that due diligence pays off. Dubbed a veteran on the rap scene, Bubb has been a role model for D.C.’s up and coming local artist. Bubb pushes himself to new heights in the studio. His isatiable appetite for perfection has given him the skills to create and release high quality hip hop music for all audiences to enjoy. With so many achievements already and still so much to accomplish, music fans have much to look forward to and will be hearing from Cousin Bubb for a long time to come.
