Devoid of the backing of a major cosign in hip-hop or in his hometown, Muggsy Malone is making it known that he is going to have a part in not only the mid-Atlantic rap scene but every facet that you can have in business of music and then some. Watch this young man moves because he’s next up.
In a time when hip-hop focuses more on the rewards of the paying of dues before the dues are paid, checks instead of respect, one poet hailing out of the DC, Maryland, Virginia area, or the DC Metropolitan area, widely becoming accepted as the DMV by those outside of the region. Enter PG County born, DC and Maryland bred artist known to his area as Muggsy Malone a.k.a The Parkway Kid. His music, persona, flow and charisma on top of programmed drums, samples and baselines, time-warps you between the golden era of hip-hop lyricism and the new generation of rap with seamless ease and vows never to quit. If the acronym for your name and life mantra meant Motivation U Gain Grinding Surviving Yesterday I don’t think you would either. Those words alone are difficult to stand by in an age where you have so many here today, gone tomorrow musicians. First discovered by WPGC 95.5′s Flex and Rayne on the now defunct program Myspace Mondays, fresh from the Capitol City Cypher hosted by DC radio station 93.9 WKYS disc jockeys EZ Street and P-Stew who host’s one of DC’s only local hip-hop programs on mainstream radio, One Nation Hip-Hop, where its rumored that he out-shined a majority of his peers, and a performance at the DC renowned producer battle ‘The Beat Clash’ at Bohemian Caverns on DC’s historic U Street, home to the world famous Ben’s Chili Bowl, if the term get in where you fit in really exists, by the way this man cultivates songs and “unloads” punchlines and metaphors intertwined with real life experiences in his songs along with a flexible vocabulary, this man is becoming the only human being to have talent enough to drop in a room full of Gods and demand a seat, possibly have to fight for it and just maybe have a chance of earning a place for himself to be planted among them. However in speaking to him, you’d get the impression he just wants to chill.

From his Youtube interview with PMP Worldwide, Bad Boy A&R Conrad Dimanche said that “He got a call from a friend about this super talented rapper…” and from Dr. Jay.com’s Boss Lady who says “I’m sitting here with the man who is going to save hip-hop…” Muggsy Malone also known as The Parkway Kid is quickly becoming one of the most sought after songwriters and lyricist in hip-hop and the DMV area in recent history and has accomplished all of this, without a manager or record label behind him and without a cosign from the DC’s area more established artists and entertainers and has solely stood on the shoulders of his talent, musical ability and his relentless grind and work ethic. He’s even been able to manage to snag a deal independently for distribution of his ringtones and are currently available on all cellular formats by himself which has added the term business man to his growing list of titles to the free agents reputation.
