Artist in Focus: Marco

Marco, born Marcus Davis on November 30th 1990, is an up and coming artist born and raised in the DMV.Living in S.E as well as Maryland, he graduated from Dunbar Shs. His early influences in the DMV music scene came while being a part of the adolescent expressway where he met and began to work closely with people such as DDotOmen and Lyriciss Flowz. His very 1st experience with recording came when he was approached by PAGES and was asked to do a song called Jasmine which was later performed at Harmony Hall. From then on Marco continued to work towards his new found goal of bein an R&B artist. Eventually he became a member of F.R.E.S.H Ent and released his very 1st mixtape, “The Audition”

Marco had been lookin for a home where he could comfortably indulge himself in his music. He met Lega-c and they began to converse on a regular basis. Marco eventually inquired about the label. He was told to get in touch with TreQues. While conversing he was told that they would discuss a possible signing after the mixtape was released. A couple weeks after that conversation Marco was featured on “You Got It” which is Lega_c’s song. TreQues heard the song and after about the third listen he signed Marco to F.R.E.S.H. Ent. He continued to to work diligently on his Freshman Mixtape under the label with the support of his Labelmates “The Audition” was released March 31st 2010.

The music you hear from Marco can be described as a deep emotionally charged extension of himself as a person. Every song is based on his own experiences, thoughts, feelings as well as past and present emotions felt.
