Ladies – now we ALL are guilty of staring at those scales trying to get to that “perfect target weight” in our minds. But – after years of yoyo diets and extremes – Janet Jackson has some advice for all of us seeking to get “our sexy back” for the summer.

“I don’t know how much weight I’ve lost, only because I stay away from the scale,” Jackson told PEOPLE at Marco Glavianos “Supermodels” exhibit in New York recently.

“I don’t think [stepping on the scale] is healthy. You’re setting yourself up to fail and women’s bodies fluctuate every month – certain time of the month in particular – we bloat a great deal,” she says.

No doubt about that! Those scales will scare you straight into the fastest ice-chip diet imaginable if you obsess over it! Janet (who is a NutriSystem spokeswoman) went on to say that since being on the weight loss program she “LOVES their caramel apples” and in addition to watching her plate – she is a firm believer in working out. When she’s getting ready for a tour – Janet works out SIX days a WEEK!

Whew! Talk about DEDICATION.

Of the Forbes Celebrity 100 list – that is. Not only has Jennifer made one heck of a comeback media wise – hosting alongside Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler on American Idol. But, despite her highly publicized love life – she has landed endorsement deals from L’Oreal, Gillette and even scored a clothing line with Kohls.

This businesswoman has taken the combination of social media, publicity and love of music to an entirely different level of success. According to Forbes, Ms. Lopez has beat out previous winner Lady Gaga (who fell to the #5 rank this year), Kim Kardashian (ranked at #7) and even chart-topping Rihanna (who landed at the #4 rank this year).

Not surprisingly, Oprah remained second in line with Mr. Swaggy himself Justin Beiber comfortably positioned at third.

I must say – this is quite an impressive comeback for Ms. Lopez. Wouldn’t you agree?

Rumor has it – that Kanye will be making guest appearances on the next season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. However, you will NOT be able to Keep Up With KimYe via TV anytime soon.

Kim vowed to never put her love life on television anymore after that whole Kris Humphries fiasco.

Throw PRO’Verb into the mix with his unforgettable battle style and passionate wordplay – you can expect him to deliver on this track. I mean, come on, did you download “While You’re Waiting”? There wasn’t ONE song that slacked on that project alone. Period.

Now throw Mr. Lyriciss & AP the Prince in the mix – BOTH of these artists are equally talented and known for their lyricism. Lyriciss dropped not one - but TWO projects – and BOTH of them set the bar pretty damn high if I must say so myself. You CANNOT sleep on AP the Prince either though. He has opened for NUMEROUS successfully signed acts and won THREE A&R showcases in his career. Not to mention – he has won Howard University Homecoming Freestyle Battle Champion two years in row.

Just sayin’ – if THAT doesn’t make you download their version of the Kanye classic “Mercy” – then I don’t know WHAT you’re waiting for. This track is EVERYTHING.

Washington, D.C. – There’s a verbal battle on U St and the champion is a poet. $2,000 is up for grabs and on the eve of May 16th, only one spoken word artist will walk away with the prize money. Graffiti DC brought slam competition to a city where spoken word is still a novelty, and one season and eight rounds later, the finale will prove that spoken word is more than just poetry.

Sponsored by Fuze, Graffiti DC has changed lives locally and internationally. Last season’s grand slam winner, 19-year-old HBO Brave New Voices alum Jinahie, slayed her competition and donated some of her winnings to the OZ Project, which benefits orphaned children with HIV in Africa. “With that much money there should be some going to others,” she said.

Competing poets will be scored between 0 and 10 based on creativity, content, and overall performance. This season’s poets Jeaninne Kayembe, Clint Smith, Roscoe Burnems, Slangston Hughes, Cuban Hernandez, Candice Iloh, Rachel Sanni and B. Sharise Moore will duke it out for the judges’ high scores. Featuring that night, will be none other than New Orleans native and Def Jam poet, Sunni Patterson.

The event is partially managed and organized by four of Washington D.C.’s top tier spoken word artists: Drew Law, Pages, YaYa, and Rasheed Copeland. The event promises nothing but power punches, and with the audience as the judge, the GDC finale will surely be a knockout.
