I agree. I feel like producers have to overcome an extra hurdle when rapping. They have to take a step back from the technicalities of writing and show the connection with their lyrics in the delivery. If they don’t show that they connect with it, then their listener’s won’t connect.
Case and point – Hitstory
I Listen to this a while ago. Some good stuff in there, but I wasnt really moved by it. Hopefully his next project will have some more “hmph” with it.
